Esther I. Terry

Esther I. Terry, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

She was born on May 12, 1926 in Indianapolis to Virgil Wincel and Eva Ellen McCloud Wincel.

Esther had been a nurse's aide for many years, and had been employed by Cloverdale Nursing Home, Heritage House/The Waters, and in home health care.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vester VanZant and James Terry; a daughter, Deloris Wallen; a granddaughter, Patricia Wallen; two sisters, Helen Stringer and Stella Lyons, and a brother, Ray Clark.

Surviving are her sons, William "Bill" VanZant and wife Charlene of Cypress, Texas, and Robert VanZant and wife Patty of Poland; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Stilesville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25 from 4-8 p.m.. at the funeral home.
