William 'Bill' Joseph Gardner

William Joseph Gardner, age 42, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home in Belle Union, surrounded by family and friends.

Bill was born on Aug. 14, 1971 in Greencastle. He was the son of William Gardner and Mary (Hite) Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Barbara Gardner and Hilton and Helen Hite.

Bill and his wife, Shondra (Robinson) Gardner, would have celebrated 22 years of marriage on Sept. 4.

Bill owned a sign and graphics business and was founder of indianaopenwheel.com. He was an avid fan and supporter of sprint car racing.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his brother, Brian Gardner and wife, Tona, of Greencastle. He was son-in-law to Tim Robinson, Fillmore, and Debra Robinson, Cloverdale. He was brother-in-law to Sharisse Arnold, husband, Brandon, Greencastle; Shadd Robinson, wife, Lana, Coatesville; and Shovonna Burcham, husband, Jason, Indianapolis. He was uncle to Sarah, Emily, Madison, Drew, Elaney, Brianna, Lane and Kinlee.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 31 from 4-8 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1.

Burial will be at Stilesville Cemetery.
