Richard A. Plummer, 78, of Cloverdale, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014.

Richard was born on Sept. 25, 1935 in Greencastle to Bennett Plummer and Evelyn Plummer.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School and served his country in the United States Air Force.

Richard was a member of First Baptist Church in Greencastle, Temple Masonic Lodge No. 47, and the Greencastle Moose Lodge 1592.

He had been employed at Maple Hurst Dairies and retired from Celadon Trucking.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Wayne Plummer; two sisters, Anna Mae Whitlock and Arlene Taylor; a sister-in-law, Vi Lady; and his wife of 51 years, Flossie M. Plummer.

Surviving are his beloved daughter, Kelly S. Shea and husband Byron, of Lake Orion, Mich.; two sisters, Helen Young, of Cloverdale, and Janice Hubbard of Stilesville; a brother, James Plummer and wife Sheila, of Indianapolis; five beloved granddaughters, Kaelin, Makenzie, Sarah, Julia and Sophia; his companion, Wilma I. Shinn of Greencastle; three sisters-in-law, J.B. O'Brien and husband Jack, Greencastle, Susie Lancaster, Bloomington, and Betsy Cox and husband Herman, Cloverdale; and four brothers-in-law, Edward Lancaster, Bob Lancaster and John Lancaster, all of Greencastle, and Josh Lancaster, Lancaster, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, with a Masonic service followed by Pastor Randy McNeely officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
