Phil DeVol to speak Oct. 29 at Prindle Institute for Ethics
Transformers is extending an invitation to the community to attend an Oct. 29 workshop featuring Phil DeVol.
DeVol is a community sustainability expert and the author of "Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities."
The goal of this workshop is to build a comprehensive approach to reduce poverty and to build a sustainable community. By understanding that all sectors and economic classes need to speak the same language and work together, this workshop will:
* Engage all classes, sectors and political persuasions in the Bridges initiative
* Develop a comprehensive community approach to poverty
* Create a structure to support and maintain the initiative
* Provide innovative solutions to significant community issues.
The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics (2961 W. County Road 225 South, Greencastle).

The Transformers Program is a collaborative effort between the Putnam County Community Coalition (PCCC), Getting Ahead Network (GA), Transferring A Little Knowledge Systematically (TALKS) Mentoring, Bridges Out of Poverty (BOP) and the Women's Prison Ministry (WPM) to connect community members and community leaders to develop a stronger community.
