Almost Like Home

Serving Putnam County as a state senator for 16 years, it was almost like a return home for Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson (center) Wednesday evening when she was feted at an Almost Home reception hosted by restaurant owner Gail Smith (left). Lawson, a Danville Republican who was appointed secretary of state in March 2012, addressed the duties of the Indiana secretary of state and the importance of the office before accepting a few questions from the audience of supporters and interested voters who filled the west side of the restaurant. Lawson is running for re-election on the Nov. 4 ballot against Democrat Beth White of Marion County.
