Couple arrested on meth charges

CLOVERDALE -- A Thursday evening tip to the led to a pair of Friday morning drug arrests in Cloverdale.

Receiving the initial information, Indiana State Trooper Jonathan Cumbie organized the information and submitted the data to the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office and Putnam County Superior Court.

Gary Means, 43, and Brandi Depew, 27, both of Cloverdale, are being housed in the Putnam County Jail following their arrests.

Cumbie, along with officers from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and Cloverdale Police Department, served the warrant at the duplex unit at 303-1/2 S. Main St. in Cloverdale.

During execution of the warrant, officers found approximately three grams of methamphetamine, less than five grams of marijuana, three firearms, assorted drug paraphernalia, cameras, cell phones and computers. K-9 officer Chewy of the Cloverdale Police Department was

instrumental in locating the illegal drugs.

Both Means and DePew are facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, dealing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Means is also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

In addition to Cumbie, the warrant was served by Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies Virgil Lanning and Matt Biggs and Marshal Mike Clark, Sgt. Charlie Hallam, officer James Martin and Chewy of the Cloverdale Police.
