Sharon M. (Hester) Luper, 78, Lebanon, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at St. Vincent Heart Center, Indianapolis.

Sharon was reared and educated in Russellville, where she was a 1954 graduate of Russellville High School.

She and Dale E. Luper married on Jan. 14, 1956, in Russellville.

Her memberships included being a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon where she was devoted and active in a variety of capacities throughout the years.

She had been a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Russellville and also Kappa Delta Phi Sorority.

Sharon had a huge spirit of giving whose great love was to cook for family and friends. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her family. Her cooking and baking produced many delicious items for her family, extended family and friends to enjoy. She also liked to garden.

She found time to work as an aide at Harney Elementary School. She and her husband operated the grocery store at Mechanicsburg for eight years.

She also worked as a clerk for Judge Thomas Peterson in Lebanon.

She and Dale operated six Lobby Shops in the Indianapolis community, serving many working downtown for about 20 years. She was outgoing and made many friends during the operation of those gift and concession stores.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dale E. Luper of Lebanon; children Linda Sullivan (Steve) of Cincinnati, Sheri Parcels (Greg) of Brownsburg, Dennis Luper (Cindy) of Lebanon and Jennifer Wagner (Joe) of Lebanon; grandchildren Tom Sullivan of Cincinnati, Katie Sullivan of Greenville, S.C., Maggie Sullivan-Miller (Adam) of Cincinnati, Krista Hunter (Kyle) Lebanon, and Brittany Wright of Lebanon; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Hunter of Lebanon; siblings James A. Hester (Marilyn) of Zionsville and Eleanor McGaughey of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Vansant and Thelma Rose Hester; three sisters, Lenna Jones, Eileen Snoddy and Martha McKenzie; and grandson, Michael Sullivan.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Myers Mortuary, Lebanon, where the funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 with Rev. Terri Thorn officiating.

Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery, Russellville.
