Laura Ann Sims

Laura Ann Sims, 85, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

Born June 24, 1929 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Claude Ralph and Bonnie Myrtle (Paris) Johnson.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Laura had been a homemaker and a member of the New Life Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Larry Sims, Kathy Berry, Richard Sims, Beverly (Ron) Richardson, David Sims, James (Rhonda) and Brent Sims; sisters Georgia (John) Best, Lucille Cox and Rita Phillips; a brother, Ralph (Norma) Johnson; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Sims; her parents; and a granddaughter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 27 at Forest Hill Cemetery with interment to follow and Rev. Braden Etcheson officiating.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
