Laura Mae (Brinson) Tucker, 83, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Mill Pond Rehabilitation in Greencastle.

She was born Jan. 7, 1932 in Owen County. She was the daughter of Clayton and Flossie (Watkins) Brinson.

She married Leonard Tucker in 1951, and he survives.

She was a 1950 graduate of Spencer High School.

She was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church in Owen County, and moved her membership to New Providence Baptist Church for the past 18 years.

Laura was a 4-H leader in the past in Owen County. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with Friends and Neighbors Homemakers Club.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and canning. At one time she enjoyed square dancing, and celebrated her 64th wedding anniversary Feb. 23, 2015.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lana Tucker, and Leah and husband Keith Veale; three grandchildren, Samantha, Eric, Colin; great-grandson Braydn; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joan and Al Tucker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Lynn Tucker, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, June 27.
