Sacred Nations Sundance to take place near Roachdale

ROACHDALE -- Sacred Nations Cultural Center will host the Sacred Nations Sundance from July 4 through 11 on County Road 500 East near Roachdale.

The eight-day ceremony comes with an invitation to pray with participants and fullfill Black Elk's vision, a prophecy that all nations will come to the sacred tree of life and pray as one.

The ceremony will take place across the road from the farm address of 8745 N. CR 500 East, Roachdale.

The ceremony will commence with the first day of purification on Saturday, July 4 and will feature the lighting of the sacred fire.

The week will continue as follows:

* Tree day, Tuesday, July 7

* First day of Dance, Wednesday, July 8

* Second day of Dance, Thursday, July 9

* Third day - Healing Day, Friday, July 10

* Last day of Dance, Saturday, July 11

Primitive camping is available throughout the week for those who bring everything they need, including water.

This is a traditional sacred ceremony. It is a time and place for prayer and healing. It is not an exhibition.
