Pitch Perfect

Four piano students of Cheryl Beck of Greencastle won first place in their division at the 2015 Indiana State Fair Young Hoosier State Piano Competition. Shelby Huffman, Aliesha Whitesell, Ashley Whitesell and Andrea Whitesell performed the ensemble piece "Galop Marche" by Albert Lavignac on Aug. 23 in the third-floor auditorium of the Ellison Bakery Home and Family Arts Building on the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The four young ladies were entered in the ensemble division of the senior high group. More than 300 Indiana students ages 5-22 qualified to perform at the state fair from preliminary rounds held in Carmel, West Lafayette and Columbus.
