Kim Archer Band live at Swizzle Stick Thursday
The Kim Archer Band, featuring Greencastle native Kim Archer, will perform live at The Swizzle Stick on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 8-11 p.m.
Kicking off 2015 with a tour from Seattle to Los Angeles and back, Archer set the tone for what has been a busy year. She has been working on her original project, while producing shows and performing at festivals and new venues throughout the Pacific Northwest, where she now lives and has made music her career for more than 10 years.
Playing her original songs, as well as popular soul, funk, rock and blues, Archer performs more than 130 shows per year and produces a summer music series in her neighborhood in Tacoma, Wash.
Archer created the weekly series, which is free to the public, to foster community, showcase local talent and give families a budget-friendly option for entertainment during the summer. The series doubled in size this year and was fully funded by sponsorships.
Her goal for the series in 2016 is to work with a non-profit and donate proceeds from the series to local children's music organizations.
Whether it's an intimate solo show or a set with a full band backing her, Archer has built a reputation for drawing in listeners with her raw, powerhouse performances. She will bring that energy and her full band to Greencastle Oct. 8 at The Swizzle Stick, 17 W. Franklin St. CD's will be available for purchase.
The show will also kick off the 25th Reunion Weekend for the Greencastle High School Class of 1990.
