Jazz at The Duck resumes Thursday

Sunday, February 7, 2016

With the holiday break and winter term at an end and DePauw University fully back in session, Jazz at The Duck will resume on Thursday, Feb. 11.

The weekly dose of jazz at The Inn at DePauw, 2 W. Seminary St., takes place each Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

The remainder of February will feature a pair of jam sessions and a performance from Greencastle's favorite soul blues singer.

The jam sessions are set for Feb. 11 and 25, featuring the rhythm section of pianist Veronica Pejril, bassist Bill Hamm and drummer Rick Provine.

Local jazz players are invited to join them to kick off the semester this Thursday and return for another session in two weeks.

The Thursday, Feb. 18 show will feature Tad Robinson, Severn recording artist and nine-time nominee at the Blues Music Awards.

Robinson is at it again, with his 2015 release "Day Into Night" nominated for best soul blues album at this year's awards.

The Greencastle-based singer and blues harp player will bring his band to The Duck for a local show.

Jazz at The Duck will continue each Thursday (except for school breaks) through the end of the semester.
