David Jonathon (D.J.) Hansell, 37, precious son of Dave and Sherry Hansell, passed away at 12:45 Tuesday, April 11, 2016.

David was born Sept. 20, 1978 and lived north of Fillmore all his life.

He enjoyed country life, living on the farm and the family's woods was his favorite place to be.

He graduated from Hansells' Home School at the age of 17.

Fishing, hunting, digging ginseng and riding motorcycles with his dad were just a few of the things that gave D.J. joy.

He was last employed at Greencastle's McAnally Center and loved all "his kids" from the middle and high school.

David was blessed with a large family and each one of them loved him dearly. Besides his mother and father, he had his grandpa Hertis Hansell and his grandma, Carol Null; Aunts Rosie (Mike) Semak and cousins Nathan and Michaela, Sandy Boswell Smith (Jerry) and her girls Christy, Brandy and Alex; Uncles Tommy Boswell and daughters Brittany and Brianna, Jerry Boswell (Madonna) and son Levi, and Eddie Boswell Henderson and his daughter Paige.

He would want to make sure to mention his best friend, Robyn Miller, and his "second family" Chad and Wendy Staley and son Jeremy Newgent.

He lost grandparents June Hansell, Tom and Maggy Boswell and Harry Null. He also missed his great-grandparents, Jonathon Maynard and Veneta Hansell, Hazel Boswell, and Forrest and Ersie Stockwell, and one of the people he looked up to most, his Uncle Ray Hansell.

D.J. got so much joy from the visits, phone calls and cards he received while in the hospital and he couldn't believe all the thoughts and prayers that were sent his way. There will be no funeral, but the family would really enjoy it if you would send a memory or share a story about D.J.

David was growing his hair out for "Wigs for Kids" so any donations can be sent there or you could grow and donate your hair in his honor.

We already miss D.J.'s smile, his humor, and his big heart. From David's family, we send all of you our love and gratitude.

We love you, Kiddo ...See you later, Bubby

Arrangements were handled by the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville.
