Charlotte R. Smith

Charlotte R. Smith, 84, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016.

Born Feb. 25, 1932 in Fincastle, she was the daughter of Hubert and Elizabeth (Eggers) Clodfelter.

She was a 1950 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

Charlotte was a homemaker, loved being with her family and her animals. She was an avid gardener and basket maker. She had worked for six years at Mallory's.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil P. "Bud" Smith; children Susan F. (Joseph) Billingsley, Rosemary Rimar (companion William Moore) and Wesley (Janet) Smith; siblings Keith (Peggy) Clodfelter, Carolee (Jim) Smithers, Joe (Bonnie) Clodfelter, Sandra (Harry) Elliott, Judy Rainey (companion Dick Crawley) and John (Connie) Clodfelter; six grandchildren, Amber Spires, April Billingsley, Brian Rimar, Stacy Cole, Lenna Cline, Morgan Freebairn and Mike Mattingly; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and William Clodfelter; and a son-in-law, Michael Rimar.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with interment to follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at the funeral home.
