Roy L. Giesen

Roy L. Giesen, 86, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016.

Born Jan. 11, 1930 in New London, Wis., the son of Leo John and Anita Marie (Bauer) Giesen.

He was a graduate of New Holstein High School and Airframe and Power Plant School.

Roy was supervisor with TWA for 35 years in aircraft maintenance.

He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War. A member and past commander of the VFW, member of the American Legion, and board member and volunteer at the Putnam County Senior Center.

He is survived by his daughters, Beth (Wm Alan) Mossburg, Dorothy (John) Jones, Margaret (Robert) Taylor, and Luann (Steven) Gehm, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Giesen, and son, David Giesen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1421 Bloomington St., Greencastle, IN. Interment with military rites will follow at the Clinton Falls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Peace Lutheran Church or the Putnam County Senior Center.
