James E. Sipes

James E. Sipes, 68 of Greencastle, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at the VA Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born Feb. 5, 1948 in Bloomington. He was the son of the late Kenneth C. and Mildred Louise (Baker) Sipes.

He married Patricia (Cooley) Sipes on Aug. 27, 1983, and she survives.

He served his country in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the Lifespring Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jayme Frazee and husband B.J., Greencastle, Jeri Lin Thrasher and husband Scott, Plainfield, Jill Pope, Hopkinsville, Ky., and Julee Riggs, Bloomington; 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and siblings Martha Easterday and husband Louie, Spencer, and Ruth Ann Grubb, Springville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Meadows.

Graveside services will be conducted at noon Friday, May 27 at Cloverdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.
