Michael 'Shane' Hallett

Michael "Shane" Hallett, 47, Greencastle, was born on Feb. 12, 1969 in Lafayette, Ind., and went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016.

He was the son of Jerry Hallett (Diana Hallett), Crawfordsville, and Linda Stephens Witham (James Witham), North Fort Myers, Fla.

He received his bachelor's degree in business management from Vincennes University and IUPUI, and his master's degree in business management from Oakland City University.

He married the love of his life, Lorie Pettit Hallett, on July 3, 1999.

Shane was a loving father to Jessica Cochran Jones (Mike Jones) and Hanna Cochran Knowling (Blake Knowling). He also loved being a papa to Jaiden and Madisyn Jones.

Shane was an avid sports fan, wonderful friend, but above all else, he loved the Lord and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lorie Hallett, his two daughters, Jessica Jones (Mike) and Hanna Knowling (Blake); his granddaughters, Jaiden and Madisyn; sister Michelle Hallett Cedars (Darren Heeke); sister and brother-in-law, Heather Pettit Whitaker and Craig Whitaker; brother-in-law, Douglas Pettit, and his niece and nephews, Kendall Shayne Heeke, Austin Heeke and Brody Whitaker.

The celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at New Hope Fellowship, 2450 N. U.S. 231, Greencastle. The family will welcome friends at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to his church, New Hope Fellowship, in Shane's names.
