Growing Communities

Wednesday, February 25, 2015
South Putnam High School and Middle School received a $2,500 grant as part of the Montsanto America's Farmers Grow Communities program. Community members apply for the grant and if awarded, then choose an organization for the money to be delivered. This year, Lisa Berry (far left) won the grant and chose the South Putnam FFA as the recipients, just as they did last year when her husband Brian Berry was chosen as the winner. With roots in both the community and the FFA program, David was in the group when he was in school and was even the chapter's president, the Berry's felt it is only natural for the money to go right back in to the communities they are, and have been, a part of. Micah Humphreys (far right) was there on behalf of Monsanto to present the FFA students with their check. (Photo by KYLE HOLLINGER)
